What kit do I need?
For Intro Level classes you do not need any kit, just come in shorts and t-shirt. No footwear is required.
When you move to the General Level you will be expected to have your full kit assembled. MMA requires gum shield, MMA gloves and MMA shin guards. Muay Thai requires gum shield, boxing gloves, MMA/Muay Thai shin guards, and elbow pads. Men should always wear a "box" (groin protector). BJJ Gi classes require a BJJ Gi/Kimono and belt.
There is a club shop where you can buy KO branded kit, and gloves from top manufacturers. Wearing KO branded kit gives the club an identity, infact at KO Muay Thai wearing KO branded gym wear is compulsary from the General Level.
Arches Boxing Gym
Arches Boxing Gym is part of the KO Gym group and specializes in White Collar, Amateur and Professional Boxing. It is based in Bethnal Green only a short walk from KO MMA. Please note gym passes are non-transferable.
A level based system
In MMA and Muay Thai there is traditionally no grading system. At KO gym we stream our students into three main levels which are Intro, General and Intermediate/Fighters. We do this because beginners need to learn the basics in a non-threatening environment, and students of a higher level are not held back by students requiring basic tuition.
Your coach will check on your progress and move you through the levels so you get the best from your training.
This system has produced numerous World Muay Thai champions.
